Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding

There are three areas within about an hour's drive from the Ranches.

*Copper Mountain.  Over 2400 acres of varied terrain, including wide-open bowls for advanced skiers.  58 miles from the Ranches.  866-841-2481.

*Ski Cooper.  The closest and "friendliest" resort.  A small hill, great for beginners and families.  Advanced skiers can go backcountry by snow cat.  800-707-6114.

*Monarch Mountain.  Steeper than Cooper with the home-town resort feel.  670 acres along the Continental Divide.  888-996-7669.

Breckenridge, Vail, and Keystone are also fairly close.
