Registration Fees
Regular Registration
$290 per person ($330 after February 1st, 2010) includes:- Evening contra dances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights
- Music and dance workshops on Friday and Saturday
- Three (3) nights of cabin housing accomodations
- Food provided: Thursday night "Significant Evening Snack" through lunch on Sunday

We are offering a limited number of admissions for those under 25 years of age to attend for only $90. You can pay the full $90 or pay $45 and volunteer for 4 to 4 1/2 hours. Those seeking $90 admission must complete a scholarship application. We are prioritizing those with leadership potential in traditional music and dance. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.Accommodation options
Cabin Housing
Admission includes three night stay.Quaint log cabins with 2 to 4 rooms per cabin.
Cabins have indoor bathrooms and hot water.
Sleeping is on bunk beds (LOWER BUNKS ONLY)- all linens are provided.
Each room will have no more than 7 people.
Private Housing
Cost is $360 per person for Private Housing. Private rooms have their own bathroom and may have two twins or a double bed. A number of private rooms are located a beautiful walk downhill from the dancing/dining lodge (about 1/2 mile). Private rooms are an additional $70/person for the weekend.Private rooms will be assigned via a lottery this year:
Registration opened October 15th. Those hoping for a private room should be sure to have their registration form to the Registrar by November 15th, 2009. Checks will be held (not deposited) until the lottery is completed. After the lottery is completed, those seeking private rooms will be notified by December 10th of their housing status. Those not receiving private housing will have the option of switching to bunk housing or staying in town - appropriate refunds will be granted. Those who choose to cancel their registration because private housing was not granted will be given a full refund ($20 cancelation fee will be waived) IF we are notified of cancelation desire by December 15th, 2009. After December 15th, regular cancelation policies will be in effect.
We work to fulfull your your bed and distance from lodge requests as indicated on the registration form; however, due to last minute changes made by the facility that our out of our control, we are not able to guarantee a particular room.
No Accommodations
Stay off-site at accommodations of your choice. (Admission is $230 with no housing.) Discounts for Stellar participants offered at Lakeside Motel in Buena Vista: 719-395-2994. Mention Stellar Days and Nights when making your reservations.Stay Longer
Stay an extra night or two to ski! Additional lodging for Wednesday and Sunday nights is available. One week advance notice needed. Pay for additional nights when you arrive. ($20 per person per night for bunk housing; $43 per person per night for those already registered for private housing)Other Information
SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE!
Those interested in a scholarship should submit this form with a $90 deposit (or $45 deposit if you are under age 25) ideally by December 15th, 2009. The Stellar Scholarship Coordinator will then contact you regarding your application by January 15th, 2010. Email the Scholarship Coordinator with questions. Any remaining amount will be due by February 1st, 2010.
Types of Scholarships:
- NEXT GENERATION - for those under 25 - to keep the traditions alive - Come to Stellar for only $45 (+ 4 hours of volunteering)! We have a limited number of Next Generation Scholarships available and will prioritize those with the desire to help keep the traditions alive in their community. Funds for Next Generation Scholarships were raised by our Stellar Swing Party in Boulder in August 2009. Click here to see businesses who supported this effort.
- VOLUNTEER SCHOLARSHIPS - for those willing to volunteer (3 to 15 hours) before, during, or after the weekend with tasks such as setting up for meals, washing dishes, cleaning the Lodge, cleaning cabins, and other miscellaneous tasks. Volunteers are given a discounted rate of $10/hour of volunteering.
Cancellation Policies
The following is participant cancellation refund policy:- Before February 1, 2010 - $20 cancellation fee is charged.
- Between February 1, 2010 and February 10, 2010 - 50% of registration fee will be refunded.
- No refunds given after February 10, 2010
- Registration is not transferable.
- Before January 15, 2010: All participants will be refunded 90% of registration fee.
- Between January 15, 2010 and February 10, 2010: All participants will be refunded 75% of registration fee.
- After February 10, 2010: All participants will be refunded 50% of registration fee
